Manavgat Waterfall
A wide, low cascade on the Manavgat River.
North of the town centre, the Manavgat River pours over a broad ledge here.
The area has walking paths, shaded seating and tea gardens.
🏛️ History
The ancient name of the Manavgat River was Melas; the Roman author Pliny the Elder described it as the border between Pamphylia and Cilicia.
The waterfall appeared on the reverse of the Turkish 5-lira banknotes printed from 1968 to 1983.
