Selge Ancient City

A Pisidian city with a well-preserved theatre inside Köprülü Canyon National Park.

Selge, in Altınkaya (Zerk), was one of the main cities of Pisidia. After Lydian and Persian rule it kept its independence in the Hellenistic period and flourished most under Rome.

Besides the walls and acropolis, remains of a gymnasium, stoa, stadium and basilica can be seen; the best-preserved building is the theatre, restored in the 3rd century AD. Ancient bridges and garrison ruins line the road along the Köprüçay.
