Ancient Harbour of Side

The ancient harbour beside the Temple of Apollo, with remains of its breakwaters.

At the tip of the Side peninsula, the harbour's breakwaters, built of large conglomerate blocks, still survive. Over time storm-blown sand filled the basin; in antiquity this was such a problem that a hard task was called "as hard as cleaning Side harbour".

Today there is a marina and boat pier next to it, and it is a popular sunset spot.
