Side Aqueducts

Arches and tunnels of the Roman water line from the Manavgat River to Side.

Side's water came from the Manavgat River springs through open channels, rock-cut tunnels and bridges spanning the valleys. Remains of the line can be seen in many villages between Oymapınar and Side, notably Kırkgöz, the two-storey high arches at Bucakşeyhler, and arches at Akçay and around Side.

The water line is a registered cultural heritage site. Some of the arches stand inside villages, by the roadside.
