Nymphaeum of Side

A grand Roman fountain in front of the city's main gate.

Standing outside the city walls, directly opposite the monumental gate, the fountain dates from the mid-2nd century AD. Its roughly 50-metre façade had three storeys of columns decorated with Medusa heads and dolphin reliefs, with three basins in front.

Architectural pieces from the façade are displayed in front of the fountain; some of the reliefs are in the Side Museum.
